IRELAND IS CALLING

I R E L A N D
☘☘☘☘

What a whirlwind these past few years have been for our family.  In the past two years alone, we have had several career changes, experienced terrifying accidents (3 to be exact), celebrated the end of an era with our last child graduating, and every one of our 7 children have moved--some to other countries, some from other countries, some from other states, and some within the same neighborhoods.

Regardless of the distance, these moves have been life-changing and have stretched every fiber of our beings.  Through it all, we can see refining benefits and we are eternally grateful for the growth these challenges/changes have brought. But wait, that's not all...there is another change in the works and we are thrilled to announce, we are moving to IRELAND!

For the past two years, Shannon has been working for Origina, a software support provider for IBM software, based in Ireland. We haven't clocked the hours he has spent on airplanes traveling back and forth from St. Louis to Ireland, but our rough estimate would be somewhere around... too many.  So when the proposal to relocate was presented, it didn't take us long to realize that it was a 'no brainer'.

It really shouldn't be too surprising for us...you see, for as long as we can remember, Ireland has been calling.  In addition to family history, there have been little things over the years that seem to be foreshadows of our move and connection to this lush, green land of our forefathers; things like a poster of the Cliffs of Moher taped to the wall of Shannon's office, our Irish Claddagh door knocker that's hung on our front door for over 20 years, Irish family crests framed and hanging in our home, Claddagh rings bought for our daughters, Irish dancing classes for our children when they were younger, and of course the Lord of the Dance and Celtic Women concerts we've attended over the years.  All of these have been steady little whisperings, beckoning us to 'come to Ireland'.

So--we are finally answering Ireland's Call.  The packing is underway and we will move into our apartment overlooking the Irish Sea during the first week of October.  Stay tuned for further updates.  We are thrilled to see what further growth and refinement come with this journey ~ Shannon & Jeanette
